Rally to Raise the Minimum Wage

From the Philadelphia Unemployment Project:

Raise the Minimum Wage Rally
Outside the Gallery Mall
9th and Market Streets
Wednesday May 25, 11:30 am

The minimum wage hasn't been raised from $5.15/hour in eight years. It is currently
worth less after inflation than it was in 1968. New Jersey, Delaware, New York, and
a dozen other states have already raised their minimum wages--most to over $7 per
hour. We are fighting for state legislation that would increase the minimum wage to
$7.15 per hour.

Ray has already written an excellent post on why raising the minimum wage is a great tool for economic development. I don't have a ton to add. Please note this rally is separate from Wilson Goode's effort. The proposed bill would raise the minimum wage across Pennsylvania, not just Philadelphia.
