I made my call. I explained (politely) that I have been a democrat my entire life and have voted democratic consistently for the past 18 years. I explained that my parents are democratic committee members in NJ, and that we take our party seriously. I explained that I donated to Allyson in 2004, even though I was hard-pressed to do so, pointing out that during 2004, I was one of the people the bankruptcy bill targets. I explained that I participated in GOTV, and reminded people to vote for reps as well as the president, and that I had personally recommended Ms. Schwartz. I told them I had decided to support Ms. Schwartz largely due to interviews and articles portraying her as a progressive.

Then I told her staff (politely) how I felt about her support of the bill. I told them I would never ever give Ms. Schwartz another penny, never mind the time of day. That I would be spreading the word to my friends, family, and colleagues about Ms. Schwartz and her vote. That I would be writing to sites where she misrepresented herself, like dailykos and atrios, and ask that they deny her advertising space in the future. That I would be giving money to whoever her primary opponent is, even if that opponent is a dead cat.

Her Washington office is 202-225-6111. Her Philly office is 215-335-6111.

How did she get the label of “progressive” anyways? I mean, she can fund raise like no ones business, and she is in the DLC. The only thing that was progressive was part of her Senate District, and trust me when I tell you that not everyone liked her.

I’m not surprised. She is a hack, and her district is mostly in Montco, so she can vote for her financial contributors and not worry about pissing off the people.

So now you guys know who she really is. OK, as President Bartlett says, “What’s next?”

It is an awful, awful, awful bill. So awful as to make people blush. So really, shhhhh.

I am going to write more about her hypocrisy coming up, but first I want to see if her office responds, because we are not the only ones pissed off.
